A former reporter at Sun TV, Santhosh Velayutham (38) was working for a channel named News Express in Tirupur.
Last night, Santhosh met with an accident last night near Thirumurugan Poondi when he was on his two wheeler. Following which he was rushed to Tirupur Government Hospital and later shifted to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for critical treatment.
However, not responding to treatment Santhosh succumbed to his injuries at 12.20 PM today at CMCH.
Shocked by his death, Coimbatore reporters gathered in large numbers at the Coimbatore Government Hospital. They grieved his loss and recalled that Santhosh was a very friendly person.
Santhosh is survived by his wife Divya and child Deeksha.
Santhosh Velayutham was a Executive Committee member of the Coimbatore Press Club in 2018-19.
