Coimbatore: With Southwest monsoon gathering intensity in Valparai and its surroundings, Pollachi Sub Collector Vaithiyanathan inspected flood-prone areas of Valparai today.
He inspected the areas including Stanmore and Aaathumattam that were hit by floods last year. He toured the banks of Vazhaithottam River that was dredged recently.
Later, he inspected the special camp that has been instituted at the Valparai College, in case people suffering from the floods need a shelter.
Following this, he inspected Valparai hotels and bakeries and checked if the places are disinfected properly. He also checked whether the customers and workers wear face masks and follow social distancing.
Valparai Tahsildar Rajan, Municipality Commissioner Paunraj and VAO Vijay Amirtharaj accompanied the Sub Collector during the inspections.
