Two fresh COVID cases in Tirupur, today
Tirupur: The total COVID-19 positive count rose to 198 in Tirupur district, after two new cases were reported, on Saturday.
The two fresh cases have recent travel histories to other districts/states. While one of the positives is a 69-year-old woman from Ranganathapuram, the other one is a 59-year-old female from Vanjipalayam. One of them has been admitted at Tirupur Government Hospital and another at a private hospital in Coimbatore.
Around 3,701 including 383 persons added today are under home quarantine.

"While the contacts of people who tested positive are being traced, 642 samples have been taken, today. Members from the media including reporters and cameramen have been tested today," said Tirupur Collector K Vijayakarthikeyan.
