Coimbatore: Public caught a bike thief red handed and handed him over to the police.
Ajit Kumar (24) hails from Rasipalayam, Coimbatore. He had parked his two-wheeler near a drugstore in Thennampalayam, yesterday afternoon and went to nearby shops to purchase essentials.
Upon return, he found that an unidentified person was trying to steal his two-wheeler and raised an alarm. When the thief tried to flee, the public nearby caught him and handed him over to the Sulur police station.
Investigations conducted by the police revealed that the person involved in the theft was Ajit Raja (20) from Paramakudi in Ramanathapuram district. Subsequently, the police registered a case against him and produced him before a judge.
