Coimbatore: After a number international flights from Dubai and other destinations brought stranded Indians to Coimbatore, the city witnessed a rare landing from a less known destination. Nearly after a decade, a Royal Brunei Airlines’ chartered flight landed in India at the Coimbatore International Airport today.

Nearly after a decade, a Royal Brunei Airlines’ chartered flight landed in India at the Coimbatore International Airport today.
The flight from Brunei arrived around 12.15 PM at the Coimbatore International airport.
The 139 Indians who arrived comprise 101 men, 31 women and 7 children from various states.
COVID-19 prevention measures have caused international air travel to be shut down, but governments of various nations including India have been operating special flights to bring back their citizens from other countries.
Sources said earlier, "The Royal Brunei Airlines chartered flight is a non-scheduled flight but it may be coming under the Vande Bharat mission. A Total of 139 Indian nationals from Brunei will be arriving in the flight. Previously, Royal Brunei Airlines operated their planes between Brunei and Kolkata via Dubai in the 2004-2005 period."
