The state reported 64 COVID fatalities deaths (22 private/42 govt) in the last 24 hours, taking the toll to 1,385.
The state’s hotspot, Chennai, recorded 2,082 fresh cases while its adjoining districts, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Chengalpet continued to sport high numbers too.
Elsewhere in the State, many districts churned out positives in double and even triple digits with a few notable exceptions such as Ariyalur, Karur, Perambalur, Tenkasi, Tirupur and The Nilgiris.
While The Nilgiris registered just 1 positive, Tirupur witnessed 5 new cases today.
In some positive news, the number of patients who have recovered from coronavirus in Tamil Nadu stands at 58,378 with the recoveries including 2,357 new ones from today.
