Coimbatore: All Trade Union Joint Committee protests in Coimbatore insisting fulfillment of their 17-point demands. Joint Action Committee of the Trade Unions called for a nationwide demonstration fulfillment of their 17-point demands, including withdrawal of increase in working hours, layoffs and pay cuts, stopping outsourcingand full payment of salaries for permanent and casual laborers.
Coimbatore: All Trade Union Joint Committee protests in Coimbatore insisting fulfillment of their 17-point demands. Joint Action Committee of the Trade Unions called for a nationwide demonstration fulfillment of their 17-point demands, including withdrawal of increase in working hours, layoffs and pay cuts, stopping outsourcingand full payment of salaries for permanent and casual laborers.
As part of this, a protest was held in front of the District Collector's office in Coimbatore where, INTUC, AITUC, and all federal unions including HMS, CITU and LPF, staged a demonstration on behalf of the Federation.
They raised slogans demanding curtailing the prices of petrol and diesel, payment of Rs 7,500 a month to the working class who suffer during the COVID curfew and stopping the sales of PSUs to the private sector. Demonstrations were held at more than 100 places on behalf of trade unions including government transport, BSNL, electricity board and banks.
