An advisory meeting of the owners of these firms was held at the Association Office at Aayarpadi. The meeting was chaired by Mahesh Nair, president of the Anaimalai Tea Plantation Owners' Association.
Sadasivam and Balachandar presided over the meeting and Pradeep Kumar delivered the welcome address. In the meeting, it was decided that workers must wear face masks and observe social distancing. It was also decided that it should be insisted to the employees that they should inform the management of outsiders and relatives who come to their homes from other states and districts.
It was decided to inform the government officials about unusual movement of vehicles in the plantation areas other than the vehicles allowed by the government. They also decided that all preventive measures should be undertaken to maintain Valparai as an infection free zone.
Mahesh Nair, Sadasivam, Balachander, and Pradeep Kumar participated on behalf of the owners. On behalf of the trade unions, AIADMK V. Hameed, LPF Soundarapandian, ANTUC Mohan, Viduthalai Siruthaigal Veeramani, INTUC Karuppaiah, Varghese and many others were in attendance.
