Coimbatore: Under the orders of the Corporation Commissioner J. Shravan Kumar, Monitoring Officers have been appointed and daily field inspections at various areas including shops are being conducted at all the five zones of the Corporation by flying squads
"Inspections conducted by the 242 members of the flying squads in the five zones of the Corporation today (July 2, 2020), led to fines of Rs.36,100 to be collected from 281 shops in the West zone, Rs.5,900 to be collected from 67 shops in the East Zone, Rs.15,800 to be collected from 56 shops in the Central Zone, Rs.12,700 to be collected from 139 shops in the North Zone and Rs.2,300 to be collected from 218 shops in the South Zone.
Fines have been collected from 761 shops by members of the flying squad for reasons such as not wearing face masks, maintaining a customer registry, not using disinfectants and not maintaining social distancing.
Altogether, Rs.72,800 has been collected in fines for violating the government guidelines," informed the Corporation Commissioner.
