Speaking regarding this, the Corporation Commissioner said, "To protect the people of Coimbatore from COVID-19 infection, the Coimbatore Corporation has appointed monitoring officers in all of its five zones. The monitoring officers and flying squads conduct field inspections at all the places where the public gather in large numbers. Shops are under the scanner too."
He added, "All the officers in the main office of the Coimbatore Corporation, employees from the five zonal offices, and the public who visit these offices are made to undergo thermal screening, only after which they are permitted to enter into the offices. The information regarding the people who visit these offices are being collected in a registry."
"The petitions and complaints from the public regarding their basic needs are received and acted upon appropriately. Arrangements are being made for the public to present their complaints/petitions to the Corporation Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and other officers via video conferencing instead of meeting them in person", informed the Corporation Commissioner.
