A lone tusker was spotted wandering in the Pakkana village near Gudalar in The Nilgiris district on Thursday. The villagers who saw this panicked and locked themselves in their houses. The elephant roamed the area for a long time before going away.
The tusker has been spotted in the area on many occasions and the residents of the village have requested the forest department to drive it into deep forests before any untoward incident happens.
