Coimbatore: Police had investigated a gym for allegedly violating lockdown by operating gym in Thondamuthur area here on Thursday.
According to residents of the area, a privately owned gym in Thondamuthur, near Coimbatore which was shut due to the lockdown is now operational against lockdown rules. Following a complaint from the public, the police along with the public visited the gym, this morning.

The public urged the police to take action against the gym owner who violated the lockdown and posed threat to the public. Following this, the Thondamuthur police have taken Sasikumar, the owner of the gym, to the police station for an inquiry.
Update 6 PM:
When contacted, the police at Thondamuthur station informed that the gym owner was called for an inquiry based on the complaints from the public who allege that the gym remains operational against government lockdown norms.
Though the owner denied the accusations, he has been asked to adhere to the lockdown norms and not open the gym. The issue has been notified to the Associations, the police added.
