Coimbatore: Employee of a private company climbed on top of a cell phone tower and threatened to commit suicide as his two wheeler was seized by a finance company for pending dues.

Prakash, S/o Subramanian of Aathukuttai near Thottipalayam in Coimbatore is employed at a private company. He had taken a two wheeler loan from Vinayaga finance, a private finance company. Prakash who had allegedly not been paying his dues on time informed the finance company that due to the COVID-19 lockdown he had been left jobless and with no income.

However, the finance company executives, who came to Prakash's house, confiscated the two wheeler for the pending dues. Upset and stressed by this Prakash climbed a nearby cell phone tower and threatened to commit suicide.

The Peelamedu police who received information regarding this arrived at the location and coaxed Prakash into getting down from the tower. Later they took him to the police station and conducted investigations. Following this, they warned him not to involve in such acts in the future and sent him back.

This incident caused a stir in the area for some time.
