COVID-19: 10 people from Tirupur with travel history test positive

Tirupur: The total COVID-19 positive count rose to 188 in Tirupur district, after 10 new cases were reported, on Wednesday.

Tirupur: The total COVID-19 positive count rose to 188 in Tirupur district, after 10 new cases were reported, on Wednesday.

All the 10 fresh cases have recent travel histories to other districts/states. As of today, there are 72 active cases in the district, who are undergoing treatment at Coimbatore ESI hospital and other government approved private hospitals.

Around 3,480 including 254 persons added today are under home quarantine and 137 have successfully completed the 14-day quarantine period.

"While the contacts of people who tested positive are being traced, 772 samples have been taken, today," said Tirupur Collector K Vijayakarthikeyan.
