Coimbatore: The Valparai Traders Union presented a petition to the Valparai Police Inspector Maheswari urging that the police practise a humanitarian approach. They also insisted on creating goodwill between the police, public and traders.
The petition insisted on changing the overview of the police regarding the public and the traders and that the police should have more of a humanitarian outlook. The petition also stated that the police who act as the bridge between the public, traders and the government must be educated to handle the public in a decent and humane manner thereby erasing the bad name that has now come to be associated with the police.
The Valparai Traders Union President Jebaraj, General Secretary M.G. Shaju George, Treasurer Jesudasan and more than 100 others were present during the event.
