DIG Karthikeyan promoted as IG; takes charge as Tirupur Commissioner of Police
Tirupur: In a major rejig of IPS officers in Tamil Nadu, the state government on Tuesday has appointed new City Police Commissioner for Chennai, Madurai, Tirupur and and a host of other IPS officers being promoted/transfered/downgraded.
Coimbatore range, Deputy General of Police (DIG) G Karthikeyan has been promoted as Inspector General of Police and will take charge as Commissioner of Police, Tirupur, in place of Sanjay Kumar IPS.
G. Karthikeyan, IPS assumed charge as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Coimbatore range, on February 2018. Prior to his current posting, hewas DIG of Dindigul range.
Sanjay Kumar, IPS the present COP of Tirupur has been transferred to IGP, Technical Services.
Greater Chennai Police Commissioner AK Viswanathan has been transferred and appointed as the ADGP (Operations) Chennai. Mahesh Kumar Agarwal, ADGP (operations) is the new commissioner for Greater Chennai Police.
Likewise, 39 IPS officers of the state are promoted/transferred.
