Coimbatore: Minister for Municipal administration S.P. Velumani inaugurated new projects which have been completed, for public use, in the Thondamuthur Panchayat Union and the Alandurai Town Panchayat. He also laid foundations for various other projects in the same areas.

The Minister for Municipal administration S.P. Velumani inaugurated completed projects for public use in the Ikkaraipoluvampatti and Madtvarayapuram panchayatswithin the Thondamuthur Panchayat Union and the Alandurai town panchayat areas on June 30. Further he laid the foundations for various other new projects.
District Revenue Officer Ramaduraimurugan, District Rural Development Project Director K. Ramesh Kumar, Thondamuthur Panchayat Union committee President Madhumathi Vijayakumar, District Panchayat member Pradeep, Assistant Director (Town Panchayats) Dwarakanath Singh and government officials participated in the event.
The Minister laid foundations for various developmental projects to be undertaken in the Mathvarayapuram Town panchayat at a cost of Rs.5.78 crores. This includes the construction of Anganwadi center building at a cost of Rs.9.08 lakhs at Thombilipalayam under MGNREGS, construction of 64 houses in the Moongilmadaikuttail area by the Slum Clearance Board at a cost of Rs.5.50 crores, construction of concrete roads at a cost of Rs.10.00 lakhs under the MGNREGS at Iruttupallam Siruvani main road to Shri Garden in the Mathvarayapuram Town Panchayat, and construction of Anganwadi center building in the Nallurpathi area at a cost of Rs.9.08 lakhs under the MGNREGS.
The Minister inaugurated various completed projects for the use of the public. This includes the two new classrooms that have been constructed at a cost of Rs.19.64 lakhs at the Panchayat Union Middle school from the Alandurai Town Panchayat Investment subsidy fund, smart classrooms built at a cost of Rs.2.47 lakhs, and the over bridge constructed at a cost of Rs. 3 crores 20 lakhs under the NABARD scheme from the Semmedu road to the Thombilipalayam Noyyal river in the Ikkaraiboluvampatti town Panchayat.
He also inaugurated the bus stand shelter constructed at a cost of Rs.12 lakhs in Thombilipalayam with funds from the Thaisemippu funds at Mathvarayapuram town panchayat, Amma park constructed in the Angel Garden area under the Amma Park scheme at a cost of Rs.30 lakhs, Amma gym, dining area for the multipurpose hall in the Gandhi Colony Semmedu in the Ikkaraiboluvampatti town panchayat at a cost of Rs. 16.85 lakhs under the MGNREGS scheme, and a food grain warehouse constructed at a cost of Rs.11.13 lakhs.
Projects worth Rs.4.12 crores were inaugurated by the Minister.
