Tirupur: The COVID-19 tally in Tirupur district rose to 180 after 20 new cases, 10 of them with travel history and the remaining 10 being their primary contacts, positive, on Tuesday.
Tirupur: The COVID-19 tally in Tirupur district rose to 180 after 20 new cases, 10 of them with travel history and the remaining 10 being their primary contacts, positive, on Tuesday.
According to official reports, there are 62 active cases in the district, as of today. The patients are being treated at ESI hospital in Coimbatore and other government approved private hospitals.
Around, 3363 people including 282 added today are under home quarantine and 209 (who presented with symptoms/travel history/primary contacts of COVID positive patients) have completed their 14 day quarantine period.
District Collector, K Vijayakarthikeyan has reiterated that the public should strictly wear masks and maintain social distancing at all times. Recently, he has been holding surprise inspections to educate the masses on the pandemic and how to safeguard oneself.
