Coimbatore: Madukkarai Tahsildar office was fumigated following an officer testing positive for COVID-19. A land surveyor hailing from Podanur is working in the Madukkarai Taluk office. He and his wife had attended a wedding a few days ago.
He was diagnosed with coronavirus yesterday. Following this, his wife also tested positive for coronavirus. Subsequently, the premises of Madukkarai have been fumigated and closed for safety reasons. It was also decided to conduct COVID-19 for employees working in the office.
Similarly, 21 people have been infected at a garment shop operating in Masakalipalayam. Following this, more than 70 people including workers and customers were tested. Health workers have fumigated the entire area for safety reasons.
