Coimbatore: The District Tamil Puligal party has filed to the Coimbatore District Collector demanding pattas for members of backward communities living at Kumaraswamy colony in the Muthannankulam area.
In the petition they said, the people of the area have been living in the area for over 100 years without invading the waterways of Muthannankulam.
They said people who live for over 30 years in a plot have a claim to it. Therefore, according to the Indian Constitution, people who have been living for 100 years should be given pattas. They accused that in the name of 'Smart City', this is being denied. The Tamil Puligal demanded that the residents be granted pattas and should not be forced to leave.
