Natarajan of the Ayyampalayam area near Palladam in Tirupur owns a cotton spinning mill in the same area. More than 20 persons are employed here.
When the employees were at work this morning, they noticed smoke and fire coming out of a machine. They tried to put out the fire immediately. However, the fire started spreading rapidly.
Shocked by this, the employees came out of the factory. Following this, Natarajan and Palladam Fire department were informed of this.
The Fire department workers arrived at the scene and used a bulldozer to break down the walls to enter the factory and put the fire out. However, machinery and cotton sacks worth Rs.10 lakhs were destroyed.
A case has been filed by the Palladam Police and investigations are on.
