Coimbatore: In a shocking event, a preterm male baby delivered dead was disposed wrapped in paper near the housing unit in Vellalore.
Passers-by alerted the Podanur police this morning about a suspicious parcel lying in the area. Police arrived and found the body of a preterm male infant with an estimated gestational age of 6 month.
Following this, the body of the child was recovered and sent to the Government Hospital. Police have registered a case under Section 1167/20U/S318 of IPC and are investigating as to the whereabouts of the parents of the deceased child.
