Last warning to the CM - DMK Chief MK Stalin releases video accusing TN CM of not paying attention to any expert suggestions

Chennai: DMK President M K Stalin on Sunday accused Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami for not paying heed to any suggestions from him or experts to contain the spread of COVID.

Chennai: DMK President M K Stalin on Sunday accused Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami for not paying heed to any suggestions from him or experts to contain the spread of COVID.

The DMK released a video yesterday titled "Last Warning to the CM" in which its Chief MK Stalin had raised several allegations and questions to TN CM on the state government's alleged COVID failures and CM's refusal to listen to advice from anyone, including Stalin.

The DMK President and the opposition leader lamented  “Chief minister did not pay heed to the advice from anyone, including myself. That's the reason the state now finds itself in a precarious position as cases are being recorded in epic proportions.”

"Since the AIADMK government failed to understand the seriousness of COVID-19 and left millions of people stranded because of its policies, the DMK undertook the 'Ondrinaivom Vaa' campaign to ease the pain of the poor and the needy" the DMK President said.

Pointing to the remarks of Dr. Jacob John, a former ICMR official and health expert, who warned in an interview that COVID has reached the stage of community spread, Stalin requested the people to be wary of the virus and safeguard themselves from its deadly attack.

Responding to K. Palaniswami's accusations levelled against him at a press meet in Coimbatore, Stalin said, “Had the Chief Minister given even a cursory read to all my statements, he would have at least understood the seriousness of the pandemic. Instead, he issued callous and unscientific statements that the virus will only affect the rich and that it will vanish in three days."

He accused that the TN CM is playing mere word games and by doing so he plays with the precious lives of people too.

"Palaniswami could have involved other political parties and their sizeable cadre force, be it in surveillance, contact tracing or creating awareness about social distancing and use of masks; instead, he spurns suggestions offered by and then does exactly what they suggested — be it in their demand to end the assembly session in March, not to reopen liquor shops or postpone the Class X board exams", lambasted the DMK chief.

"The DMK leader noted that TN CM can very well crown himself as a victor in the battle against Coronavirus but that should happen only after he does that", MK Stalin concluded his video with a ridicule.
