Coimbatore: A review meeting on Coronavirus preventive measures was held at Coimbatore Corporation headed by Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer J. Shravan Kumar.
He said measures to disinfect crowded areas such as government hospitals and primary care centers should be geared up. He reiterated that wearing face masks and social distancing have been made mandatory, so the authorities should do everything within their official capacities to ensure the norms are maintained all the time.
He added that the procedure of checking people with COVID-19 symptoms has been intensified and more health officers and nurses have been deployed to do this. Medical camps to detect the infected are on full swing in all 5 zones. Meanwhile, tracing the contacts of the COVID positives in the district is done on a war footing too.
Corporation commissioner also said that a special committee has been set up to monitor the public who venture out without face masks and commercial establishments that violate social distancing norms.
Deputy corporation commissioner S. Mathuranthagi, Regional assistant commissioners, Health officers, Engineers and other officials participated in the meeting.
