Tirupur: The number of COVID-19 patients in Tirupur District has gone up to 141. Following this, the Tirupur District Administration has intensified its COVID-19 prevention measures.

Out of 141 COVID-19 patients in Tirupur, 117 have recovered and been discharged. However, the spread has gone up in the past few days due to people arriving from other districts.

A 66 year-old-man from the area within the Tirupur Corporation tested positive after returning from a business visit to Madurai due to which the COVID ally has risen to 141.
Upon the confirmation of the disease, the man has been admitted at Coimbatore ESI for treatment. The area where he resides is being subjected to intense sanitary and preventative measures.

Also, the residents of the area are being tested.
Meanwhile, 2,771 people have been quarantined and are under observation in the district.
