Valparai government tea plantation workers undergo COVID-19 testing

Coimbatore: Government Tea plantation workers were tested for COVID-19 at Valparai today.


Coimbatore: Government Tea plantation workers were tested for COVID-19 at Valparai today.



The Government Tea Plantation Corporation has tea plantations at Cinchona, Chinnakallar, and Periyakallar areas under two zones, namely Ryan and Lawson. More than 2,000 workers are employed at these tea plantations.



The plantation workers were brought to the Tea plantation hospital at Cinchona for COVID testing. Their mucus and blood samples of the workers are being obtained for testing. A team of doctors, pharmacists and nurses led by the chief doctor of Valparai Primary Health Center, Dr. Babu Lakshmanan is conducting the tests.
