DCC President V.M.C. Manoharan in a notice informed, "The 20 army men who lost their lives in the clash that happened at the Indo-China border are being paid tributes by the DCC.
Events to pay homage to the deceased were held at various places in the district including Irugur, Sultanpet, Thondamuthur and Mettupalayam. The photos of the army men were showered with flowers and candles were held in memory of them."
"It is said that Indian land at the IndoChina border is being occupied by China. The truth regarding this must be revealed by PM Narendra Modi. He must explain this to the people. It has been seven weeks since the Chinese army entered into the Indian landscape. However, the Indian government has been maintaining silence for the whole time. The Indian soldiers were sent without weapons and this only shows the poor administrative quality of the Indian Army", he charged.
The Congress executives and cadres held placards with slogans such as, 'India should send out the Chinese army and redeem our land."
