Tirupur: Tirupur MP Subbarayan held a consultation with knitwear industries to understand the assistance needed by the industry to help it revive from the impact of COVID-19.
In a meeting held at the South Indian Knitwear Manufacturers' Association office, the Tirupur MP Subbarayan consulted with the knitwear industrialists.
He met the press after the meeting. He said, "The knitwear industry had already been reeling under the effects of demonetization and GST. In the past three months, the COVID-19 lockdown has made it even weaker. In order to help revive the industry, suggestions and requests from the industrialists have been obtained. They will be compiled and sent to the State and Central governments."
"The Tirupur knitwear industry is a job provider that generates a lot of employment. The governments must therefore come forward to improve the industry", he requested.
