COVID-19: 28 new cases in Coimbatore; 4 cases from MGR and Anna market


Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu witnessed a huge wave of COVID-19 positive cases on Thursday, with over 3500 cases, the highest single day spike. 

Coimbatore district which is also witnessing a steep increase in COVID-19 cases has recorded 28 new cases from multiple places including the Corporation and suburban limits on Thursday. Especially 4 cases in total have been reported from MGR and Anna market.

Details of patients tested positive on June 25, 2020 are:

1. A 45-year-old male from VSK Nagar, Vadamadurai with travel history from Neyveli on June 22

2. A 40-year-old male from MGR Market categorised as Cluster

3. A 50-year-old male from MGR Market categorised as Cluster

4. A 48-year-old male from MGR Market categorised as Cluster

5. A 55-year-old male from Anna Market with no travel history

6. A 14-year-old female from Telegupalayam categorised as high risk contact

7. A 23-year-old female from Telegupalayam categorised as high risk contact

8. A 35-year-old male from Telegupalayam categorised as high risk contact

9. A 31-year-old male from East Venkatasamy road, RS Puram categorised as high risk contact

10. A 30-year-old male with travel history to Doha to Coimbatore IX683 Flight on June 23.

11. A 37-year-old male from Big Bazaar Street with no travel history.

12. A 50-year-old male from LG Nagar, Vellalore categorised as Cluster case.

13. A 36-year-old male from Shallop Street, Vellalore categorised as Cluster case.

14. A 18-year-old male from Konavaikanpalayam, categorised as Cluster case.

15. A 42-year-old male from Kanjikonampalayam, categorised as Cluster case.

16. A 11-year-old male from Kanjikonampalayam, categorised as Cluster case.

17. A 21-year-old female from Periyarayan Street, Vellalore with no travel history

18. A 43-year-old male with travel history to Doha to Coimbatore IX683 Flight on June 23.
