Coimbatore: CM Edappadi Palanisamy conducted a review meeting with the district administration and officials regarding the COVID-19 prevention measures being undertaken in the district.
Travelling from Salem via road, the CM participated in various events here. He laid the foundation for the third drinking water supply development project from Pillur at a cost of Rs.166 crores. Later, he inaugurated the scheme for providing power packs comprising kabasura kudineer, zinc tablets and vitamin tablets to 10 lakh families. Following this, the CM conducted a review meeting with the officials.
Parts of developmental projects that have been completed at various places were inaugurated by the CM over video conferencing. Smart City project completed at Ukkadam Periyakulam at a cost of Rs.39.74 crores was inaugurated today along with the project completed at Valankulam at a cost of Rs.25.83 crores. The Annur Tahsildar's Office and the residential buildings built at a cost of Rs.2.85 crores were also inaugurated via video conferencing.
The Chettipalayam Government Primary Health Centre constructed at a cost of Rs.60 lakhs and the Pollachi North Panchayat Union building constructed at a cost of Rs.2.70 crores were inaugurated over video conferencing too.
Later, he conducted a meeting on COVID-19 prevention measures with Minister S.P. Velumani and other officials.
He also met the administrators of CODISSIA, Indian Chamber of Commerce, SIMA, SISPA and 15 other trade associations. The trade associations spoke to the CM regarding the industry crisis, electricity bills and various other problems that the entrepreneurs are facing during the current crisis. Following this, the CM held a meeting with Farmers' Association representatives.
