Tirupur: In a first in Tirupur district, a government office has been closed down due to COVID infection. The municipality office building in Dharapuram has been sealed off temporarily, after four employees tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday.
Tirupur: In a first in Tirupur district, a government office has been closed down due to COVID infection. The municipality office building in Dharapuram has been sealed off temporarily, after four employees tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday.
According to reports, a woman employee of the municipality office had recently returned to Dharapuram after travelling to Chennai along with her family. She and her husband tested positive initially and later when her colleagues at the office were subjected to testing, three more turned positive.
All the five have been admitted at Coimbatore ESI hospital for treatment.
Since last night, fumigation has been kick-started in a war footing throughout the office. All employees have been asked to work from home, until further notice.
