He has written a letter to the collector following the latter's meeting with the CM.Gopalakrishnan has written that the shop owners in the city have followed the COVID rules enforced by the Tamil Nadu Government.
With COVID-19 affecting the livelihood of many, lockdown again would collapse the normalcy. He said many shops in Avinashi road, Trichy road, Gandhipuram, RS Puram, and Townhall have been closed and to-let boards have been hung in front of the vacant buildings, which is more depressing than the COVID-19.
Hence he requested to avoid complete lockdown as it may affect the lives of the people and it would take more than a year to return to semblance of normalcy.
