Esther Baby, a native of Veerapandi, Tirupur left her husband in 2014 and lived with her mother Sahayarani and father Abdul Kasar in Velan Nagar, Veerapandi.
In this case, Esther Baby saw her mother Sahayarani in a compromising position with a person named Bakyaraj. Following this, Sahayarani, along with her brother Xavier Arun and Bakyaraj, killed Esther and buried her inside the house. Four days later, on June 18, 2014, the woman complained that her daughter was missing.
Under the circumstances, Xavier Arun was arrested last March on a charge of murder at Chennai Pallikaranai police station.
When Xavier Arun returned to Tirupur, Esther Baby's father Abdul Kasar again approached the police station and complained that his daughter had disappeared six years back. When interrogated by police, Xavier Arun confessed that himself, Sahayarani, and Bakyraj killed Esther Baby and buried her inside Sahayarani's house.
Subsequently, police and medical personnel dug up the skeletal remains of Esther Baby at Sahayarani's home in Veerapandi and sent them for autopsy. The incident has caused quite a stir in the area.
