Coimbatore woman undergoing dowry-related harassment by husband and relatives lodges complaint

Coimbatore: A 27-year-old Coimbatore woman has complained that her husband and relatives threatened her and demanded for more dowry.

Nivetha Sree, 27, daughter of Sripal from Thondamuthur, Coimbatore is married to Karthik, a resident of Peon Colony for two years.

She alleges her mother-in-law and brothers-in-law have been reportedly harassing her constantly, asking for jewels and money. Yesterday, Karthik, his mother and brothers attacked Nivetha Sree on those grounds.

The police have registered a case against Karthik and his family relatives for allegedly harassing and assaulting Nivetha Sree and her family at the Podanur police station following a complaint lodged by her.
