22-year-old 108 ambulance staff feared to have died of COVID at ESI hospital
Coimbatore: A 22-year-old man from Dindigul who was working as an Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) at 108 ambulance service is feared to have died of COVID 19 at ESI Hospital, here on Wednesday.
Though official reports are yet to confirm his death, the ambulance EMD staff was diagnosed with COVID on June 18. As he was staying at Mangalam in Tirupur district, he was notified in Tirupur district's list and later shifted to Coimbatore ESI hospital for treatment.
Official reports confirmed that he had recent travel history to Dindigul and possibly could have contracted the infection.
Early, this morning he reportedly succumbed to COVID at ESI hospital. The death of the young ambulance EMD staff to COVID has sent shock waves and immense grief amid 108 ambulance staff.
