Coimbatore: Public nabbed a duo who tried to snatch cellphone from a man, in broad daylight. Manohar, 39, hails from Vadamadurai near Coimbatore.
At around 3 pm yesterday, while walking with his friend near the NGGO Colony Railway Gate, two people who came in a bike, snatched Manoharan's cellphone and fled.
Shocked by this, Manoharan and his friend tried to catch the thieving duo. Hearing the commotion, the public nearby caught the two men trying to escape in the two-wheeler and handed them over to Thudiyalur police station.
One of the miscreants was identified as Karthik (20), son of Manikandan from Ashok Nagar, Kavundampalayam, and another was Jibin Varghese (40), son of Poulose from CPC Garden Avenue in Thondamuthur. They were subsequently prosecuted and jailed.
