COVID: Three staff members of Coimbatore GRT Jewellery tested positive;shifted to hospital
Coimbatore: Three staff members of GRT Jewellery in Coimbatore has been tested positive for COVID, on Sunday. All three who presented with symptoms have now been shifted to a hospital.
The three staff who are tested positive are among the 30 plus staff members of the organisations who were deputed from the jeweller"s Chennai branch to work in Coimbatore outlet. All 30 plus staff were subjected to COVID testing by the health officials on Saturday, and results of three people have been tested positive.
The remaining staff members are advised to be under strict quarantine.
While an FIR has been lodged on the store manager at Kattoor police station based on the complaint by a VAO staff of Anupparpalayam, the staff members testing positive now has sent shock waves among the public and their patrons.
The Store Manager has been booked under U/s 188, 269 and 270 of IPC and under section 3 of Epidemic Disease Act.
On Saturday, GRT Jewellery in Gandhipuram was sealed by the Corporation officials for violation of COVID-19 norms. The store has been functioning with more employees than the recommended COVID-19 ceiling and it was learnt that over 30 staff members of them have arrived from their Chennai outlets.
