The weekly special trains operating between Coimbatore and Jabalpur will be regularised as weekly express services from October 2026. The services will operate as Train No’s. 20159/20160, with the Coimbatore–Jabalpur service departing on Mondays and the return service from Jabalpur on Fridays.

The weekly special train service between Coimbatore and Jabalpur will be regularised as a weekly express service from October 2026, making the existing rail connection between the two cities a permanent service.
Under the new arrangement, the existing Train Nos. 02197/02198 Coimbatore–Jabalpur–Coimbatore Weekly Special services will operate as Train Nos. 20159/20160 Coimbatore–Jabalpur–Coimbatore Weekly Express.
The Jabalpur–Coimbatore Weekly Express (Train No. 20160) will commence regular service from October 23. It will depart from Jabalpur Junction at 11.50 p.m. every Friday and reach Coimbatore Junction at 2.30 p.m. on Sunday.
The Coimbatore–Jabalpur Weekly Express (Train No. 20159) will begin its regular service from October 26. The train will leave Coimbatore Junction at 5.05 p.m. every Monday and arrive at Jabalpur Junction at 8.45 a.m. on Wednesday.
The service will include AC First Class, AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class and General Second Class coaches, along with a Luggage-cum-Brake Van with accommodation for differently abled passengers.
The route will connect Coimbatore with several major destinations across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra before proceeding towards Madhya Pradesh. Key stops include Palakkad Junction, Shoranur Junction, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasaragod, Mangaluru Junction, Udupi, Madgaon Junction, Ratnagiri, Panvel, Nashik Road, Bhusaval Junction, Khandwa Junction and Itarsi Junction, among others.
On its west-to-northbound journey, the Coimbatore–Jabalpur service will leave Coimbatore at 5.05 p.m. on Monday and reach Palakkad at 6.10 p.m., Shoranur at 7.25 p.m., Kozhikode at 8.50 p.m., Kannur at 10.05 p.m. and Mangaluru Junction at 1.10 a.m. The train will continue through Madgaon, Ratnagiri, Panvel, Nashik Road, Bhusaval, Khandwa and Itarsi before reaching Jabalpur at 8.45 a.m. on Wednesday.
The return service will cover the same route in the opposite direction, departing Jabalpur at 11.50 p.m. on Friday and arriving at Coimbatore at 2.30 p.m. on Sunday.
