Coimbatore: The reckless move by GRT Jewellery in Coimbatore has ended up in filing an FIR against the organisation for violating COVID norms.

Jagadesh, a VAO staff of Anupparpalayam had lodged an official complaint against the Store Manager of the jewellery shop at Kattoor police station for transporting 39 staff from Chennai to work in Coimbatore, thus blatantly violating COVID norms.
The Store Manager has been booked under U/s 188, 269 and 270 of IPC and under section 3 of Epidemic Disease Act.
All the staff members who arrived from Chennai are being subjected to PCR testing and quarantined. The results are awaited.

Earlier, this morning GRT Jewellery in Gandhipuram was sealed by the Corporation officials for violation of COVID-19 norms. The store has been functioning with more employees than the recommended COVID-19 ceiling and it was learnt that over 30 staff members of them have arrived from their Chennai outlets.
