COVID-19: 18 new cases in Coimbatore including four cluster cases from Chinniyampalayam

Coimbatore: According to district health officials, 18 new COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in the district today. The 14 passengers from New Delhi to Coimbatore who were tested positive for COVID at the Coimbatore International Airport are not included in this list. They have been sent to their respective districts for treatment.

Details of patients tested positive:

Patient 1: A 54-year-old male traveller from Ramanathapuram with travel history to Ooty was tested positive.

Patient 2: A 35-year-old female from Mylampatti (containment zone) has been tested positive. The case is categorised under cluster case.

Patient 3: A 40-year-old male from Mylampatti (containment zone) has been tested positive. The case is categorised under high risk category.

Patient 4: A 27-year-old male from Chinniyampalayam (containment zone) has been tested positive. The case is categorised under cluster case.

Patient 5: A 24-year-old male from Chinniyampalayam (containment zone) has been tested positive. The case is categorised under cluster case.

Patient 6: A 33-year-old male from Telengupalayam was tested positive after he presented with Influenza like symptoms at Coimbatore GH.

Patient 7: A 82-year-old female from Podanur was tested positive after she presented with Influenza like symptoms at Coimbatore GH.

Patient 8: A 39-year-old male from Siddhanapuram was tested positive after he presented with Influenza like symptoms at Coimbatore GH.

Patient 9: A 65-year-old female from Kanuvai was tested positive with travel history to Goa.

Patient 10: A 53-year-old female from Chinniyampalayam (containment zone) has been tested positive. The case is categorised under cluster/high risk category.

Patient 11: A 20-year-old male from Chinniyampalayam (containment zone) has been tested positive. The case is categorised under cluster/high risk category.




Patient 12: A 70-year-old male from Samathur has been tested positive during non-communicable disease (NCD) screening.

Patient 13: A 3-year-old girl child from Nadukani with travel history to Chennai has been tested positive.

Patient 14: A 67-year-old male from Sungam has been tested positive during non-communicable disease (NCD) screening.

Patient 15: A 82-year-old male from Subbegounden Palayam has been tested positive during non-communicable disease (NCD) screening.

Patient 16: A 27-year-old male from Saravanampatti has been tested positive. The case is categorised under High risk contact of positive train traveller.

Patient 17: A 3-year-old male child from Udayampalayam has been tested positive. The case is categorised under High risk contact of Chennai traveller.

Patient 18: A 30-year-old female from Udayampalayam has been tested positive. The case is categorised under High risk contact of Chennai traveller.
