An advisory meeting for BJP district executives was held in Tirupur. BJP State General Secretary Vanathi Srinivasan participated in the meeting. She later addressed the media. During the press meet she said, "The opposition parties have started a false propaganda that the Central Government is planning to cancel the free electricity being provided to farmers. However, the Central government has no plans to do so. More than 21 lakh farmers in TN benefit from this scheme and the Central Government has not done anything except collecting data regarding the scheme. The electricity department has been facing a loss of Rs.13,000 crores and ways to rectify the loss are being analyzed."
Further she noted, "Modi government has always been for the farmers. Raising awareness regarding the self-reliant India scheme will be done door to door. Further, electronic rallies via videos are also being planned to be conducted", she informed.
Many BJP administrators participated in the meeting.
