Onam Festival Special Worship Held at Siddhapudur Ayyappan Temple in Coimbatore

Special worship services were conducted at Siddhapudur Ayyappan Temple in Coimbatore for Onam festival. A grand Athapoo floral arrangement was created using tons of flowers before the deity's sanctum. Malayalam-speaking people visited with families to offer prayers.


Coimbatore: Special worship services are being conducted at the renowned Siddhapudur Ayyappan Temple in Coimbatore to mark the Onam festival. Coinciding with Kerala's major harvest festival, devotees have been thronging this popular Ayyappan temple in the city in large numbers to offer prayers.

The temple opened its doors at 5 am today for the Onam festival celebrations. Following this, the deities in the temple were adorned with new clothes and special pujas were performed. The worship rituals were conducted according to traditional Malayalam customs.



A magnificent Athapoo floral arrangement has been created in front of the deity's sanctum using tons of flowers. This colorful floral decoration has been captivating devotees. Designed in a circular pattern with flowers of various hues, this arrangement beautifully represents the essence of the Onam festival.



Malayalam-speaking people, dressed in new traditional attire, have been visiting the temple with their families to seek the blessings of the deity. Women are seen wearing the traditional Kerala attire of Kasavu sarees, while men are dressed in veshtis as they participate in the worship.



The entire temple premises is filled with Onam festival enthusiasm. The temple complex has been decorated with flowers and lights. Notably, Sadhya, the traditional feast, is being served as prasadam to devotees.

The festival celebrations at Siddhapudur Ayyappan Temple showcase the cultural harmony and the significance of Onam in Coimbatore's Malayalam community. The temple management has made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth darshan for the increasing number of devotees visiting during this auspicious occasion.
