The Nilgiris: Nilgris Fire Department conducts COVID-19 awareness programme for students. The event was conducted to create awareness about Coronavirus amid the students.
They were also provided with guidelines that need to be followed upon return to classes after schools reopen.
So far, Nilgris has witnessed 14 COVID-19 positives. All of the patients have returned home after successful treatment. The schools in Ooty have a lot of students from other states and districts. The Nilgris fire department conducted an awareness programme for the students.
A painting competition was held for them with the themes of the spread of the virus, awareness and prevention.
Station fire officer Mohan and other firefighters including Kannan and Murali participated in the event.
