Valparai has been experiencing intermittent rainfall over the past one week. The weather has become more pleasant, cloudy and the area has been receiving showers all through the day.
Yesterday, Valparai experienced 5 mm of rainfall while Sholayar Dam area received 14 mm of rainfall, Chinnakallar 7 mm and Neerar Dam 6 mm.

Due to the constant showers, water flow has increased in the Koolangal river, Nadumalai river and other small streams.
The water level at the 165 feet Sholayar Dam increased by 48.12 feet this morning. Water inflow into the dam has been 75 cubic feet and no water is being released.
Due to the rainfall, tea production has increased in the estates. This has brought about a lot of joy to the workers.
