Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer J. Shravan Kumar presided a meeting with hotel owners and food safety department officials regarding the guidelines to be followed when hotels reopen on June 8.
The Corporation Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioner detailed, "as per the orders of the TN CM, all hotels within the Corporation limits are proposed to be reopened on June 8.
Air conditioners should not be used in the restaurants. The restaurateurs must ensure that all the customers who visit the shop wear face masks. Customers should be permitted to enter only after they sanitise their hands. Only two people should be permitted to be seated at a four seater table."
He further said, "basic amenities and sanitation facilities at the hotel must be inspected and ensured by the concerned authorities. Restaurants must avoid reusing refrigerated food. Action will be taken against those fail to comply with the guidelines."
The meeting was attended by food safety department officials, corporation officials and hotel owners.
