Newlyweds donate funds earmarked for their wedding to the underprivileged affected by COVID-19 pandemic
Coimbatore: A newly-wed couple slashed their wedding budget and donate relief materials to the poor and needy affected by COVID-19.
Ranjith of Elachipalayam near Karumathampatti and Selvi of Pallipalayam, Erode, working in IT Sector entered matrimony at Elachipalayam in a very simple ceremony, today.
While their wedding was originally planned in a grand manner in February, the date was moved further owing to the COVID-19 lockdown. Today, the delayed nuptials was conducted in a very simple manner, with only the next of kin in attendance.
The newly-wed then decided to donate the wedding funds earmarked for their earlier-planned opulent wedding to the underprivileged people affected by the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Right after their wedding, in a gesture that warmed the hearts of many, the couple donated packages containing essential material for a month to 450 families in Elachipalayam.
The recipients of the supplies greeted and blessed the newly-wed for their benevolence.
