Competitions on industrial safety

Officials of the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health will conduct competitions and quiz for workers in units across the district for the next one month as part of the programmes planned for National Safety Day. The aim is to improve awareness among workers on industrial safety.

According to a press release from K. Arul, additional director, the officials met Coimbatore District Collector Archana Patnaik on Friday and submitted details of the functions of the directorate in the district. Programmes were conducted at Roots Group of Companies here for National Safety Day on March 4. The workers took safety pledge. Banners were displayed in the companies and safety badges were distributed to the workers. An awareness programme was conducted at Coimbatore Productivity Council on industrial safety, according to a press release.
