Addressing the Media at the Coimbatore International Airport, the CM said that delimitation of wards was completed in May itself. He accused that DMK has been behind the delay in holding the elections.
He pointed that Supreme Court has ordered the Election Commission to hold elections in 27 districts. And, for the remaining nine districts it has been ordered that elections must be held within 4 months.
"In this scenario, the actions of DMK Leader Stalin is totally absurd, as his party keeps knocking the Court doors regarding postponing the local body elections, citing lame reasons. His actions implies fear of losing", said the CM.
When questioned on the soaring onion prices, he said, "Not only in Tamil Nadu, but the entire nation is facing the issue. The onion production in the State has dropped due to heavy rains.The situation is expected to better in another 20 days."
