It's become habitual for AIADMK govt to wait for a tragedy and then react - Sanjay Dutt, Secretary AICC

Coimbatore: All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary and In Charge of Tamil Nadu, Sanjay Dutt slammed the ruling negligence of the AIADMK government regarding the Mettupalayam wall collapse case, that killed 17 people.

Coimbatore: All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary and In Charge of Tamil Nadu, Sanjay Dutt slammed the ruling negligence of the AIADMK government regarding the Mettupalayam wall collapse case, that killed 17 people.

After visiting the families of the deceased he addressed the media during which he alleged the AIADMK government for acting negligently on the complaints raised by the people against the wall.

"It's become habitual for the AIADMK government to wait for a tragedy to happen and then react. Whereas, a responsible government should attend to people's grievances on priority and not overlook them. Announcing solatiums and jobs for the affected, doesn't make them a good government. Are they sleeping in the mortuary?", he lambasted.

He added that shockingly, no legal or departmental action has been initiated on the officials for neglecting the issue for several years.

District Congress party members accompanied him and explained the incident in detail.

On December 2, a wall of a house collapsed on nearby hutments, killing 17 people at Nadur A.T. Colony in Mettupalayam. This incident has caused a huge uproar and various political parties have condemned the incident. The owner of the house Suvasubramaniam has been arrested.
