Antoine Basker, HR head from KBL who was the guest speaker spoke on innovative HR practices. A very strong and experienced in strategic planning and operations, he was the past President of National HRD Network for 2016-18.
As a HR of an All Women unit of KBL, Coimbatore, he shared his experiences and the misconceptions in employing women.
"Employment plays an important role in determining the social status of a woman. Employing women will prove very advantageous to the employer, as they are very loyal and dedicated. Their collaborative work style and ability to multi task are highly appreciable", he commended.
He added that "If women are uplifted, they could contribute to the success of the family and community, as well."
Explaining that there is no ordeal of employing women in second shifts or late night shifts, Antoine Basker
questioned "When women can work in night shifts in service sectors like hospitals and IT fields, then why not in manufacturing sector...?"
He appealed that mentality of the family members of women employees should change. "They should not be skeptical of allowing women to work in night shifts", he said.
